What motivates digital transformation? In SaaS, the motivation is often the recurring revenue business model. Companies move from providing on-premise software to the cloud, or create a software offering to productize their service.

For startups, the right technology increases speed and scale. Digital tools expand capacity without hiring more workers, keeping costs down and growth high.

Other digital transformation motives include increasing IT flexibility (i.e., moving from CapEx to OpEx), keeping up with competitors, and delivering a better customer experience.
